Kyagulanyi Musisi Steven is our Costume and Props Manager.
As a costume manager at House of Talent, he is entrusted with planning, constructing, sourcing, altering, and maintaining all costumes.
Key responsibilities include:
Wardrobe Operations
- Oversee creation, fitting, alterations, and maintenance of costumes
- Supervise seamstresses, tailors, and wardrobe staff
- Coordinate with costume designers, choreographers, and directors to ensure artistic vision is realized
- Inventory and Logistics
- Manage in-house costume inventories and rented or purchased garments
- Coordinate transport and storage for multiple performances or touring schedules
- Budget and Procurement
- Develop and monitor costume budgets, including materials, rentals, and labor
- Source fabrics, accessories, and costume pieces while ensuring cost efficiency and quality Productions.
- Production Support
- Attend rehearsals, dress rehearsals, quick-change sessions, and performances
- Provide immediate repairs or adjustments as needed during shows
- Ensure costumes comply with performance safety standards
- Team Training and Leadership
- Train and mentor apprentice seamstresses or troupe members
- Oversee backstage procedures and wardrobe coordination
